Deciding on which tattoo you want is a very serious decission - you can't change your mind afterwards, so please take your time and give everything due consideration. Some people prefer to get their design in a temporary tattoo to wear first - see if they really like it on them - they always look different on the computer screen or in a book. This approach is highly recomended. Good luck in finding the design that is perfect for YOU!

Making The Right Choice For Your Tattoo

Deciding on a tattoo is important. Tattoos are permanent and will make a statement about you for the rest of your life. Some people decide to get tattoos in remembrance of a lost loved one, some wish to commemorate an important event in their lives. Others simply want to make a very personal statement about themselves.

It may not be easy to choose exactly the right tattoo design. The person you are today may not be the same as the person you will become. Choosing the theme of the tattoo is the first step. Then you must choose a design. There are hundreds of designs available at tattoo shops and online.

To find the perfect tattoo, you need to look at the right places. Here are some tips on where you can find cool tattoo ideas.

Search for tattoo galleries over the internet. There are many websites that showcase different tattoo designs and you can choose which one you think will look great on you or has the most relevant meaning to your life. However, because of so many online tattoo galleries, you really have to be patient when browsing through different pictures if you really want to find the perfect tattoo for you. You will know right away once you have seen the tattoo that it is the one for you.

Visit local tattoo artists and ask to see their portfolios. These are photos that show their past work. Looking at a portfolio will tell you not only about the artists designs, but about his skill in recreating those designs. A great design that’s poorly done won’t make the statement you want. Make sure the shop is licensed and uses proper sterile protocol. An infection will ruin the best tattoo and leave you with a scar. Each artist has a different style and technique and this will influence the way he executes your design. Make sure you feel confident in your artist’s skills before proceeding with your tattoo.

If you aren’t sure where you want your tattoo, look around at where others have tattoos. Consider your workplace. It may not be practical for you to have a tattoo that can’t be covered by your clothing. Although tattoos are becoming more popular, many people have negative associations with tattoos and the people who wear them. Consider putting your tattoo on your shoulder or back where it won’t show when you’re dressed for work.

If you find the perfect design, but it isn’t tattoo art, take the picture to your local tattoo artist. He may be able to create a drawing of how the design might look if it were made into a tattoo. There are some restrictions on the way a photo or piece of art can be rendered in a tattoo. Skin isn’t the same as canvass, and needles aren’t the same as brushes. If you like the way your design looks as a tattoo you can have it put on your skin.

Having a tattoo is very cool, especially if it is something that really symbolizes you or your belief. Just search for a tattoo design in the places discussed above and you can be sure that you will get the perfect tattoo for yourself.

Small Tattoos – Everything You Need to Know

If you have made the decision to get a tattoo, the available choices may be a bit overwhelming. Even if you’ve already decide on the theme of your tattoo, for instance, a rose, there are dozens of designs from which you can choose. Choosing the perfect tattoo can be hard.

If you are planning to get a fairly small tattoo, you can try out your body art with a temporary tattoo before taking the plunge. If you decide to try this, have a picture taken of your temporary tattoo for your tattoo artist. This won’t work for large tattoos that cover the skin on your back or arm. Most temporaries come as a decal and are rather small.

While temporaries are not practical for large tattoos, they are a great way to experiment with size, theme and location for small tattoos. You may try several before you make your final decision.

Since these tattoos are small, you can easily hide them with your sleeves or pants or anything. This is very convenient especially if you will go to a formal event or meeting, like a job interview or a conference where having a tattoo is bad for your image as a responsible and hardworking employee.

Big tattoos require much more ink and time and effort on the tattoo artist’s side which makes them more expensive than small tattoos. So if you are on a budget but you cannot wait to have a tattoo, you can opt for a small tattoo which is cheaper and takes a short time to finish.

If for some reasons you have decided to erase your small tattoo, it would be easier than if you have a big tattoo. Erasing a permanent tattoo means drawing a skin-colored tattoo over your original design. Imagine if you have a sleeve tattoo or a tattoo that covers your whole back. Not only will it be more expensive and time-consuming, it will also be more painful.

Small tattoos do tend to fade more over time than large tattoos. Avoid rubbing the area of skin where your tattoo is located. Never scrub or use abrasive skin cleansers on your tattoo, especially when it is new. Follow your tattoo artist’s directions for care of your tattoo.

While the location of large tattoos may be limited to certain areas of the body due to their size, small tattoos can be placed almost anywhere on the body. Many women like a dragonfly or flower design on their wrist or above the ankle bone. Some people like to use the back of their neck.

Women often chose roses or butterflies for a small tattoo. Other floral designs and religious symbols like crosses are popular as well. Men and women may opt for Chinese or Japanese characters or zodiac designs for their small tattoos. The choice of tattoo is important because you will have to live with it for the rest of your life.

It is also easy to put several small tattoos all over your body. You can have one on your finger, one on your inner wrist, another at the back of your neck, and in other places but still they will not be so obvious, unlike if you have several big tattoos.
