Deciding on which tattoo you want is a very serious decission - you can't change your mind afterwards, so please take your time and give everything due consideration. Some people prefer to get their design in a temporary tattoo to wear first - see if they really like it on them - they always look different on the computer screen or in a book. This approach is highly recomended. Good luck in finding the design that is perfect for YOU!

Celtic Knot Butterfly Tattoo

July 30th, 2009 by admin | Filed in butterfly tattoos

Butterflies were a very religious symbol in the Celtic Society. They believed that each butterfly had its own soul. The belief was that in order for it to be reborn, it had to conceal itself in the food or drink of a woman, and after the woman consumed her meal the butterfly would impregnate her and soon be reborn as a human.

The Celts believed that butterflies were fairies, and that they brought abundance and good fortune, as well as growth and change. This would be one of the reasons why the Celtic Knot butterfly tattoo is so popular. They also represented the transformation, the rebirth, and the renewal of life.

The Celts didn’t keep many ancient records, but stories were passed from one generation to the next. They often tattooed themselves with beautiful Celtic tattoo designs of their favorite symbols of life. Even today Celts use the Celtic Knot butterfly tattoo to acknowledge their heritage.

Many of the Celtic tattoo designs were decorated with beautiful colors and Celtic knots (also a symbol of never ending changes), and have become so popular that many people of all ages are beginning to have Celtic Knot Butterfly tattoo put on their bodies. Women favor the butterfly tattoo because of its free spirit, and transformation from one life cycle to another, thus going from birth through puberty to adulthood. Men are beginning to use the butterfly tattoo as well, just not as much as women.

Celtic knot Butterfly tattoo can be found on many different parts of the body, and many women place them as lower back tattoos, as well as their navel. They also like them placed on their ankles and shoulder blades. Men usually place them as armband tattoos, both upper and lower.

There have been many different and beautiful Celtic knot Butterfly tattoo designs over the years. Some of them are a butterfly Tattoo full of colors with Celtic Knots surrounding it, others are just a Celtic Knot butterfly tattoo, and one of my favorites is the beautiful Celtic Butterfly Tattoo transforming into a beautiful winged fairy.

Weather you are of Celtic descent or if you just like the beautiful Celtic Butterflies and Celtic Knots there is a tattoo design out there that I assure you will fall in love with, and make you proud to show it off.
